Do You Have an Emergency LOA Back-Up Plan?


Sometimes we all freak out.  Things aren’t going right and we wonder does all this “positive thought stuff” really work?  If so, why are situations spinning out of control?

That’s when we need our Emergency LOA Back-Up Plan. Mine is a tattered piece of paper, with a few paragraphs on it. I carry it in my wallet. When I get stuck in a whirlwind of emotions, I find a quiet place and pull it out. It always works to change my emotions. That’s my story and it serves me well. I’ll share what’s on that sheet of paper, but first I want to let you know the words aren’t magical.  My belief in them is the magic.

Here’s my Emergency LOA Back-Up Plan:

Feelings are just an indicator of vibration.  If I feel bad, it just means I’m thinking something that doesn’t match-up with my true self. I can change my thoughts to raise my vibration and feel better.

Feel now how you will feel “then” and then do what you are inspired to do

I am creating what happens next.

Ok, I warned you.  It’s not a deep dark secret, but when I read those words, I feel RELIEF.  When I even pull out that piece of paper I feel RELIEF.

Your own LOA Emergency Back-Up Plan can be a wonderful tool to soothe you when you need it. Yours might be on a piece of paper like mine, or it might be a picture, or a crystal, or a voice memo on your phone of you telling yourself what you need to hear. The fun part is if you choose something that lights you up and reminds you that “all is well,” it’s easy to program it to bring you instant relief. Ahh, yes, all is well.

    I think this is so important because things are regularly spinning out of control for people! And I think that your technique of pulling out a reminder, a sign, a magical note is nothing short of being magical! NLP uses a very similar technique of setting up a NLP anchor that could be engaged by pressing the thumb and forefinger etc that reminds and floods the person with emotions and feelings and memories that have been pre-programmed to be favorable.

    One technique that I use is my Mini Hour-of-Power where I spend just a few minutes feeling strongly and visualizing my most cherished goals and desires, becoming deeply and heartfully grateful and bring back the locus of happiness to this moment. I attempt to get genuinely excited, inspired and bothered (in a good way) about my life purpose and goals and it always slows or stops the “spinning out of control life” thing. Laughing and smiling a lot helps too 🙂 :).

    Research in positive psychology has shown that we need to find happiness now and everything else including success will follow and not the other way around.

    • Harish, Thanks for sharing! I learned a little bit about NLP years ago, but had forgotten most of it. I love their anchor technique and I love that we can create our own anchors. We can all have our own way to remind ourselves to focus on happiness. Love, love, love your mini Hour-of-power practice!

    Great post, Michelle! Something has shown up that I didn’t want- and I was putting some action towards shifting it. I had momentarily forgotten my emergency/trusty LOA plan- turn it over to the Divine. I don’t need to know the “how”– just turn it over and let go. What if it turns out to be easy?

    Thank. You…… After standing vigil 21 hours beginning 5:30 am 4th of July..we lost my father in law 2 a sudden massive heart attack… Not jus the healthiest.. Strongest…most intelligent soul I have ever encountered… But more of a father 2 me than I could ever put into words….I feel numb like I can’t wake myself from a bad dream… But stumbled across ur page via a Facebook friend (thank u Luke) and truly was able 2 FEEL your words… And I thank u 4 that… It’s difficult… But thanks 2 angels like you 2 remind us…. Not impossible.. And again… I Thank you.. <3
